WARNING

• When operating the Subaru Ascent power rear gate, always ensure the surrounding area is clear of people and obstacles.

  Failure to follow these precautions may result in injury due to impact or entrapment.

  • Confirm that no one is standing near the Subaru Ascent rear gate.
  • Prevent children or other individuals from approaching the moving rear gate.
• While closing the Subaru Ascent rear gate, make sure that no body parts or objects are in the closing path to avoid serious injury.
• When opening the Subaru Ascent rear gate on an incline, ensure that it has fully stopped before approaching, as it may begin to close due to gravity.

  Always verify that the rear gate is securely positioned.

• Always take the Subaru Ascent key with you when leaving the vehicle and never leave children unattended inside, as improper use of the power rear gate may lead to injury.
• The driver is responsible for ensuring safe operation of the Subaru Ascent rear gate at all times.
• Operate the Subaru Ascent power rear gate only when visibility is clear and there is no risk of obstruction.

CAUTION

• After opening, always close the Subaru Ascent rear gate using the power function. Applying excessive manual force may damage the system.
• Do not install non-genuine accessories on the Subaru Ascent rear gate. Additional weight may impair operation or damage the system.
• Avoid touching the power rear gate drive rod.

  This may result in injury or mechanical damage.

The Subaru Ascent power rear gate will operate only under the following conditions:

• The vehicle is completely stationary.
• The ambient temperature is within −22°F to 140°F (−30°C to 60°C).
• The ignition switch is in "LOCK"/"OFF" or "ACC", or in "ON" with the selector lever in the "P" position.

For convenience and optimal performance, it is recommended to use the Subaru Ascent power rear gate whenever possible instead of manual operation.

NOTE

• Avoid repeatedly pressing the Subaru Ascent power rear gate button while the system is operating, as this may cause the system to ignore commands to prevent damage.
• If the Subaru Ascent begins moving while the rear gate is operating, a warning buzzer will sound and the rear gate will attempt to close automatically. If an obstruction is detected, the system will stop and require manual closing.
• If you attempt to reopen the Subaru Ascent rear gate immediately after closing it, the system may emit a chirp and refuse to open. Wait briefly before retrying.
• If operating conditions are not met, the Subaru Ascent will emit a warning sound and deactivate the power rear gate. In such cases, the rear gate may stop abruptly.
