Checking the fluid level
WARNING
CAUTION
The chemical composition of brake fluid may damage paint finishes and degrade rubber parts.
Check the brake fluid level of your Subaru Ascent regularly, ideally once a month, while the vehicle is parked on a level surface to ensure an accurate reading.

Always inspect the fluid level visually from outside the reservoir. If the level drops below the "MIN" mark, add brake fluid until it reaches the "MAX" level, ensuring safe braking performance of your Subaru Ascent.
Use only brake fluid from a sealed container to prevent contamination and maintain fluid integrity.
Recommended brake fluid
CAUTION
Never mix different brands or types of brake fluid in your Subaru Ascent. Avoid combining DOT 3 and DOT 4 fluids, even if they are from the same manufacturer, as this may negatively affect braking performance.
Brake pedal
Regularly check the brake pedal free play and reserve distance according to the maintenance schedule provided in the "Warranty and Maintenance Booklet". Proper pedal feel is essential for safe and predictable braking in your Subaru Ascent.
