WARNING
If the SRS airbag system warning light in your Subaru Ascent shows any abnormal behavior, immediately stop the vehicle in a safe location and contact an authorized SUBARU dealer for inspection. Failure to properly diagnose and repair the system may result in the seatbelt pretensioners and/or SRS airbags not deploying correctly during a collision, significantly increasing the risk of injury.
For more detailed information about the components monitored by this system in the Subaru Ascent, refer to the section "SRS airbag system monitors".
Front passenger's frontal airbag ON and OFF indicator lights

Front passenger's frontal airbag ON indicator lights
Front passenger's frontal airbag OFF indicator lights
The front passenger airbag ON and OFF indicators in the Subaru Ascent provide a clear visual status of the front passenger’s SRS frontal airbag system.
These indicators are positioned as shown in the illustration and are designed to inform the driver whether the airbag is currently active or deactivated.
When the ignition switch of the Subaru Ascent is turned to the "ON" position, both the ON and OFF indicator lights will illuminate simultaneously for approximately 6 seconds as part of a system self-check.
After this diagnostic phase, both lights will turn off briefly for about 2 seconds. Then, based on input from the Subaru Ascent advanced frontal airbag system sensors, one of the indicators will illuminate to display the current airbag status.
If the front passenger airbag is active, the ON indicator light will remain illuminated while the OFF indicator light stays off.
If the system determines that the front passenger airbag should be deactivated, the OFF indicator light will illuminate while the ON indicator remains off.
If, after the system check, both the ON and OFF indicator lights in the Subaru Ascent remain on simultaneously or both remain off, this indicates a malfunction in the airbag system. In such a case, immediately contact an authorized SUBARU dealer for a comprehensive inspection and necessary repairs.
Additional note: The Subaru Ascent SRS airbag system is a critical safety component, and proper monitoring of its warning and indicator lights ensures maximum protection for all occupants in the event of an accident.
