• To maintain the full safety performance of the Subaru Ascent SRS airbag system, no modifications should be made to any related components, wiring, or structural elements. Unauthorized changes may lead to accidental airbag deployment or system failure, significantly increasing the risk of serious injury.

  This restriction applies to all types of aftermarket modifications, including but not limited to the following:

  • Installation of non-original or custom steering wheels that may interfere with the Subaru Ascent airbag deployment system
  • Adding decorative or protective trim materials to the dashboard, which could obstruct airbag deployment zones
  • Installation of non-standard seats not designed for the Subaru Ascent SRS system
  • Replacement or alteration of seat upholstery, including fabric or leather materials
  • Adding extra layers of fabric, leather, or seat covers on front seats, potentially affecting side airbag functionality
  • Mounting accessories such as hands-free microphones or electronic devices on pillars (A, B, or C), windshield, windows, assist grips, or other areas near SRS curtain airbag deployment paths
  • Installation of additional electronic equipment (e.g., two-way radios or communication systems) near SRS wiring or components, which may interfere with system signals in the Subaru Ascent
  • Modifications inside front door panels for speaker upgrades or soundproofing that could affect side impact sensors and airbag operation
• The Subaru Ascent impact sensors, which detect collision forces, are located within the doors. Any modification to door structures, panels, or trims—such as installing aftermarket speakers—can compromise sensor accuracy and lead to improper airbag activation or system failure.

CAUTION

Do not perform any structural or accessory modifications that could interfere with the proper functioning of the Subaru Ascent SRS airbag system.

• Do not install front-end accessories such as bull bars, winches, snow plows, or skid plates unless they are genuine Subaru Ascent accessories specifically approved by the manufacturer
• Avoid modifying the suspension system or altering the front-end structure, as this can change impact dynamics and affect airbag deployment
• Do not use tires that differ in size or construction from those specified for the Subaru Ascent, as this may influence vehicle stability and sensor calibration
• Do not attach side body accessories such as side steps or sill protectors unless they are genuine Subaru Ascent parts designed for compatibility with safety systems
