How to use the lock lever

Subaru Ascent interior door lock lever operation lock and unlock positions

  1. Move the lock lever rearward to unlock the door.
  2. Move the lock lever forward to lock the door.

Before driving your Subaru Ascent, always ensure that all doors and the rear gate are securely closed.

A visible red indicator appears on the lock lever when the door is unlocked, providing a quick visual confirmation.

To open an unlocked door, pull the inside handle. On Subaru Ascent front doors, pulling the handle will unlock and open the door even if it is locked.

WARNING

CAUTION

Do not pull the inside door handle while simultaneously operating the door lock mechanism in the Subaru Ascent. This may interfere with proper locking or unlocking and could damage the mechanism.

How to operate the power door locking switches

The Subaru Ascent is equipped with power door locking switches located on both the driver’s and front passenger’s doors, allowing centralized control of all locks.

  2. Press to unlock all doors and access points.

NOTE

Before locking your Subaru Ascent using the power door locking switches from outside, always double-check that the key or access key fob is not left inside the vehicle.
