WARNING
To prevent serious injury caused by entrapment in the Subaru Ascent, always strictly follow the safety guidelines outlined below without exception.
NOTE
Power window operation
Power window switches

Driver's side power window switches
In the Subaru Ascent, all windows can be conveniently operated using the master control panel located on the driver’s door, providing centralized control over every window in the vehicle.
The switches illuminate when activated, ensuring easy visibility during nighttime driving.

Passenger's side power window switches
Each passenger door in the Subaru Ascent is equipped with an individual power window switch, allowing occupants to control their respective windows independently.
These switches also illuminate when in use, improving usability in low-light conditions.
Operating the window

With one-touch auto up and down feature
*: To stop the Subaru Ascent window at any desired position, move the switch in the opposite direction.

Without one-touch auto up and down feature
The Subaru Ascent power window system is designed to provide both convenience and safety, ensuring smooth operation while protecting occupants from potential hazards. Understanding how to properly use these controls enhances driving comfort and overall vehicle usability.
NOTE
To ensure proper operation of the Subaru Ascent power window system and prevent potential malfunctions, avoid the following actions.
Performing either of these actions may activate the Subaru Ascent power window circuit breaker, temporarily disabling window operation. If this occurs, it is necessary to reinitialize the power window system. Refer to the section "Initialization of power window (windows with off delay function)".
Anti-entrapment function (windows with off delay function)
The Subaru Ascent is equipped with an advanced anti-entrapment safety feature designed to protect occupants during automatic window operation.
When a window is closing automatically and detects a significant obstruction between the glass and the frame, the Subaru Ascent system will immediately reverse the window slightly and stop to prevent injury or damage.
Similarly, if an obstruction is detected while the window is opening automatically, the system will halt the window movement.
CAUTION
NOTE
Off delay function (if equipped)
The Subaru Ascent features an off delay function that allows continued operation of the power windows for approximately 40 seconds after the ignition switch is turned to the "ACC" or "OFF" position.
If a front door is opened within this time period, the Subaru Ascent off delay function will be immediately canceled, disabling window operation.
Locking the passengers' windows

When the window lock switch in the Subaru Ascent is set to the lock position, all passenger window controls are disabled. This includes the switches on the driver’s door as well as those on each passenger door.
When the indicator on the Subaru Ascent window switches is not illuminated, the switches are inactive and cannot be used to operate the windows.
Initialization of power window (windows with off delay function)
If the one-touch auto up/down feature or the off delay function of the Subaru Ascent does not operate correctly, the power window system must be reinitialized by following the procedure below.
1. Ensure that the door is fully closed.
2. Turn the ignition switch of the Subaru Ascent to the "ON" position.
3. Fully open the window, then press and hold the power window switch for approximately 1 second.
4. Fully close the window, then pull and hold the power window switch for approximately 1 second.
This procedure restores proper functionality of the Subaru Ascent power window system, ensuring smooth operation and reliable performance.
