Washer operation (accompanied by wiper operation)
Rear wiper
When the control is set to the "
"
position, the rear wiper of the Subaru Ascent operates intermittently, adjusting
its interval according to vehicle speed. When shifting into reverse ("R"), the system
automatically switches to continuous operation for improved rear visibility.
After shifting out of reverse, the rear wiper seamlessly returns to intermittent operation, maintaining convenience and safety.
Reverse gear interlocked rear wiper:
Even when the rear wiper switch is turned off "
",
if the front wipers are active, the Subaru Ascent automatically activates the rear
wiper intermittently upon selecting reverse gear.
The default configuration for this feature is:
This setting can be customized by a SUBARU dealer to match driver preferences and regional specifications.
CAUTION
Do not install accessories or attach objects that could obstruct rear wiper movement on the tailgate. Doing so may lead to mechanical damage when the wiper is activated.
Washer
To clean the rear window, rotate the control to the "
"
position. Washer fluid is sprayed while the rear wiper operates continuously until
the control is released.
The Subaru Ascent also integrates the rearview camera washer into this function, ensuring the camera lens remains clean for optimal visibility and driver assistance performance.
Additional note: The Subaru Ascent wiper and washer systems are engineered for reliability across varying weather conditions. Regular inspection of blades, fluid levels, and sensor areas will help maintain peak performance and extend system lifespan.
