CAUTION
Models with "keyless access with push-button start system":
In Subaru Ascent models equipped with a keyless access system and push-button start, the light control switch becomes operational when the ignition is set to the "ACC" or "ON" position.
Regardless of the switch position, all illuminated exterior lights will automatically turn off once the push-button ignition is switched off, helping preserve battery life.
Models without "keyless access with push-button start system":
For Subaru Ascent models that use a traditional ignition key, the light control switch functions when the key is inserted into the ignition.
Similarly, all active lighting will be automatically turned off when the key is removed from the ignition switch, ensuring that lights are not accidentally left on.
NOTE
The light control switch in the Subaru Ascent can still be operated (excluding automatic headlight activation) under the following conditions:
If the headlights remain on for approximately 10 minutes, they will automatically turn off to prevent excessive battery discharge. To turn the exterior lights back on, switch the ignition to the "ON" position.
If the driver's door is opened while the headlights are still on under these conditions, the Subaru Ascent will emit an audible alert to remind the driver that the lights remain illuminated.
The Subaru Ascent is designed with practical safety and convenience features that help protect both your vehicle systems and personal data, ensuring peace of mind in everyday driving situations.
