Subaru Ascent 2018-2026 Owner's Manual: Alarm system operation

When the Subaru Ascent alarm system is armed, it will be triggered if any of the following components are opened without authorization:

• Any door
• The rear gate
• The engine hood

Once triggered, the Subaru Ascent alarm system will activate the following alerts:

• The horn will sound continuously for approximately 30 seconds.
• The hazard warning flashers will blink for approximately 30 seconds.

If the intrusion condition persists (for example, if a door remains open), the Subaru Ascent horn may continue sounding for up to 3 minutes. If the door, rear gate, or hood is closed while the alarm is active, the horn will stop after a short delay of up to 30 seconds.

NOTE

The Subaru Ascent alarm system can also be configured to activate interior lighting for additional visibility when triggered.

• Map lights (active when the switch is set to "DOOR")
• Reading lights
• Cargo area light (active when set to "DOOR")

By default, this interior lighting notification feature is disabled in the Subaru Ascent. It can be activated by a SUBARU dealer upon request.
