PROCEDURE
CAUTION:
• Subaru Select Monitor kit is required for reading DTC, performing diagnosis and reading current data.
• Before removal or installation, be sure to remove any foreign matter (dust, moisture, oil, etc.).
• Registration of immobilizer may be needed after the replacement of control modules, etc. For detailed procedure, refer to the “REGISTRATION MANUAL FOR IMMOBILIZER” provided as a separate volume.
NOTE:
• Using the Function Setting (Customize), check that the keyless access system is not in a cancelled state. Function Setting (Customize) > OPERATION">

1.CHECK BATTERY.
Using a tester, measure the voltage of the battery.
Is the voltage 11 V or more?
Basic Diagnostic Procedure > PROCEDURE">Go to Step 2.
Charge or replace the battery and perform check pre-inspection. Basic Diagnostic Procedure > PROCEDURE">Go to Step 2.
2.CHECK PRE-INSPECTION.
Use the interview check list to interview the user. Check List for Interview">
Was the symptoms of the trouble recorded in the interview?
Basic Diagnostic Procedure > PROCEDURE">Go to Step 3.
Interview the user again.
3.BASIC INSPECTION.
Perform the inspection for LAN system. Basic Diagnostic Procedure > PROCEDURE">
Is LAN system normal?
Basic Diagnostic Procedure > PROCEDURE">Go to Step 4.
Check it according to DTC of LAN system. Basic Diagnostic Procedure > PROCEDURE">
4.CHECK TROUBLE SYMPTOM.
1) Read DTC for «Keyless Access with Push Button Start». Read Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)">
NOTE:
If the communication function of the Subaru Select Monitor cannot be executed properly, check the communication circuit. Subaru Select Monitor > COMMUNICATION FOR INITIALIZING IMPOSSIBLE">
2) Record all DTCs, time stamp and freeze frame data.
NOTE:
For time stamp, refer to “LAN SYSTEM”. General Description > CAUTION">
Is DTC displayed on Subaru Select Monitor?
Perform diagnosis according to the DTC.
Basic Diagnostic Procedure > PROCEDURE">Go to Step 5.
5.CHECK PHENOMENON LIST.
Check the “Phenomenon List”. General Diagnostic Table">
Is there a symptom that corresponds in the phenomenon list?
Perform diagnosis according to the procedures in the phenomenon list.
Basic Diagnostic Procedure > PROCEDURE">Go to Step 6.
6.CHECK TROUBLE PHENOMENON.
1) Perform check of current data. Read Current Data">
2) Perform a function check. General Description > CAUTION">
3) Perform a unit check.
Was the trouble cause found?
Repair the cause of trouble.
Repeat a basic check again.
